Recently, the attention of all Harry Potter fans has turned to yet a new story placed in the magical world. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them offers us a look at one of the few fascinating Dark wizards, Gellert Grindelwald. How different will he be from the last Dark wizard we've seen? Or is it the same pattern as with Voldemort?

However, let's take a moment to go back to our roots at first. Long before the release of the "prequel" movies, we already knew this title. Back then, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was merely a book - one of the required school book titles for Hogwarts. And we were lucky enough to have J.K.Rowling print it for all the fans to take part in studying care of magical creatures. Let's take this Fantastic Beasts quiz as an impromptu O.W.L. for the course, shall we?

Fantastic Beasts Book

The Fantastic Beasts book was written by a famous British magizoologist Newton Scamander. Since 1918, it has been a long journey for the adventurous Hufflepuff to finish the book. Newt Scamander was always an avid fan of magical creatures. Unlike many wizards of that time, he was not afraid but tried to study and help them. After the expulsion from Hogwarts, he was able to keep his wand and even worked for the Ministry of Magic.

When he received a chance to switch to the occupation of his dream, Newt swiftly packed his bags and began an extraordinary journey that would make him a famous wizard. The following several years were spent by visiting nests, lairs, burrows, caves, and many other habitat places. Newt was studying beasts everywhere, from the deepest jungles to the brightest deserts! So, dozens of years later, young witches and wizards would study to pass Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them quizzes at school.

Fantastic Beasts Movies

Newton Scamander is a notable magizoologist, yes. However, the man has played a more significant role in the magic society's history than most people suspect. We briefly saw his involvement in the events of Grindelwald's time in Rita Skeeter's biology Man or Monster? The TRUTH about Newt Scamander. The shrewd journalist has made a Dumbledor's spy out of him.

The two recent screenplays and movies have given us a clear look at the events that took place in New York in 1926 and a year later. We saw not only a mysterious suitcase of Newt hiding the work (or LIVING work) of his life but also the malicious plots of Gellert Grindelwald.

Though we have seen only bits of the man's plans, the difference between the two known Dark Lords is astounding. Where Voldemort is about fanaticism and fear, Grindelwald is about charm and persuasion. These are two different kinds of Dark Lords.

In this Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them quiz, we mostly dwell on the magic creatures. However, you'll also find a couple of questions concerning the animal components of the two movies.
