The title’s developer is Insomniac Games, the studio also responsible for such games as Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. Similarly, this new version of Marvel Universe fights for the title the best superhero game ever created. In just two years after its release, it managed to sell over 13.2 million copies. This record brings it to the third place of the best-selling PS4 games ever (inferior only to GTA V and Uncharted 4, both being released prior to Spider-Man).
At the time of publication, this game received several year-end accolates and general critical approval. Therefore, with a total score of 87 out of 100 on Metacritic, this is one of the highest-ranking PS4 games. 2018 Spider-Man has even managed to come up to the level of the iconic games such as Batman: Arkham Knight that has been considered the best superhero game for a long time.
